Finance Plant Terms of Use & Privacy Notice

Last updated: 21 October 2026

Please read these terms carefully before using Finance Plant. By accepting them, you agree to the terms below. The full Privacy Policy is at privacy.html.

1. Nature of the service.

Finance Plant is a software tool for record keeping, invoicing, budgeting, expense sharing, reminders, loan/borrow records and calculations. It is not a bank, lender, payment processor, accountant, lawyer, tax adviser, investment adviser, debt collector or financial institution.

2. User responsibility.

You are solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, legality and appropriateness of all information entered, imported, calculated, exported or shared through the app. You must independently verify amounts, dates, taxes, interest, exchange rates, balances, receipts and statements before relying on them.

3. Calculations.

Interest, tax, currency conversion, payment allocation, due dates, ageing, totals and other calculations are provided for convenience. They may depend on assumptions, user settings, rounding, incomplete information or applicable rules. You remain responsible for checking calculations against your contracts, invoices, local law and professional advice.

4. No guarantee of availability.

Finance Plant is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, compatibility with every device/browser/OS, uninterrupted local storage, successful synchronization, successful notifications, successful sharing, or continued availability of any feature.

5. Data and storage.

Local records may depend on browser/device storage, permissions, operating-system behaviour, available storage, clearing application data, browser privacy settings, device loss, corruption, hardware failure or other events outside the application's control. You are responsible for maintaining independent backups of important information.

6. Attachments and receipts.

Receipt images and other attachments may fail to save, display, load, export or share because of file size, permissions, storage limits, device restrictions or technical errors. Always retain original source documents where they are important.

Privacy.

Finance Plant does not send usage or error counts from your device. See the full Privacy Policy for details.

7. Online services, network and sharing.

If you use any online feature of Finance Plant or share information with another person, delivery can depend on network availability, device availability, configuration and third-party services. You are responsible for checking that the intended recipient, phone number, address and shared data are correct before sending.

8. Financial and legal records.

The app does not determine whether a transaction, interest charge, tax treatment, invoice term, loan agreement, discount, settlement or other record is legally valid. You must comply with applicable laws, contracts, accounting requirements, tax requirements and record-retention requirements.

9. No professional advice.

Nothing in the app or its reports constitutes legal, tax, accounting, investment, lending, insurance or other professional advice. Obtain qualified professional advice when required.

10. User content and authorization.

You represent that you have the right to enter, store, process and share the information you provide. Do not enter another person's confidential information unless you are authorized to do so. Verify recipients before sharing invoices, statements, contact details, loan information or receipts.

11. Third-party services.

Phone contacts, operating-system APIs, browser features, notification services, WhatsApp or other third-party applications may change or become unavailable. Finance Plant does not control their operation, availability, permissions, policies or compatibility.

12. Security.

You are responsible for protecting your device, operating-system account, backups, passwords, PINs, access credentials and access to the app. No software can guarantee absolute security. Report suspected unauthorized access and change relevant credentials promptly.

13. Limitation of liability.

Finance Plant and its owner/developer shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive losses, or loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, data or records arising from use of or inability to use the software. The developer/owner disclaims responsibility for the losses described in this section.

14. Service is not error-proof.

Software can contain defects, mistakes, omissions, compatibility problems, calculation errors, display errors or unexpected behaviour. You use Finance Plant at your own risk and must independently check important records and outputs.

15. No responsibility for bugs or technical failures.

The developer/owner disclaims responsibility for losses or damage caused by bugs, coding defects, failed updates, crashes, freezes, app closure, failure to open, incorrect screens, missing functions or other software faults.

16. Incorrect, incomplete or changed data.

Records, totals, balances, interest, repayment allocations, reports, invoices, reminders and exports may be incorrect, incomplete, duplicated, delayed, outdated or altered by user input, software behaviour, import/export, rounding, device state or other causes. Verify them against original documents.

17. Data loss, corruption or inability to recover.

The developer/owner is not responsible for lost, corrupted, overwritten, deleted, inaccessible, unrecoverable or incorrectly restored records, attachments, backups or settings, regardless of cause. You must keep independent copies of critical information.

18. Hacking and unauthorized access.

No app or device can be guaranteed secure. The developer/owner is not responsible for unauthorized access, hacking, malware, spyware, phishing, stolen devices, compromised accounts, leaked credentials, malicious files or attacks on networks or third-party services outside reasonable control.

19. No promise of protection against every threat.

Security features, encryption, access controls and integrity checks, where available, reduce certain risks but do not guarantee that data cannot be viewed, altered, copied, intercepted, deleted or misused. Do not treat the app as a secure vault or regulated financial system.

20. User must verify before acting.

Before lending, borrowing, collecting, paying, invoicing, settling a dispute, filing taxes or making a legal or financial decision, compare the app output with signed agreements, source records and qualified advice. You bear the risk of acting on an unverified output.

21. No liability for consequential losses.

The developer/owner shall not be liable for direct or indirect losses arising from app use, including missed payments, missed deadlines, penalties, interest, lost business, lost revenue, lost profits, reputational harm, disputes or opportunity costs.

22. Local-only data is your responsibility.

Where records are stored on your device, you control the device and its storage environment. App data may be removed by operating-system cleanup, storage settings, device migration, reset, repair, security software or user action. The developer/owner does not guarantee preservation.

23. Backups may fail.

Backup or restore functions may be unavailable, incomplete, incompatible, damaged, interrupted or unable to include every setting or attachment. A successful-looking message is not a substitute for checking the backup and periodically testing restoration.

24. Import and export risks.

Imported files may be invalid, malicious, outdated, duplicated or incompatible. Exported files may expose sensitive information to anyone who receives or accesses them. Review file contents, source, destination and merge results before confirming an import or sharing an export.

25. Sharing and recipient errors.

You are responsible for checking every recipient, group, phone number, email address, file, link and permission before sharing. A message or attachment may be forwarded, copied, stored, exposed or viewed by unintended people, and the developer/owner cannot control recipients after delivery.

26. Third-party and platform failures.

App stores, Android, device manufacturers, cloud providers, messaging apps, email clients, print services, networks and other third parties may change or stop services, block files, alter permissions or suffer outages. The developer/owner does not control or guarantee those services.

27. Notifications and reminders are not guaranteed.

Reminders can be delayed, suppressed, duplicated or not delivered due to permissions, battery restrictions, time settings, device shutdown, app restrictions or operating-system changes. You must maintain your own calendar or other backup reminder for critical dates.

28. Interest, tax and currency are not certified.

Calculations are estimates based on the settings and inputs selected and may not match a contract, statutory method, jurisdictional rule, day-count convention, bank practice, tax treatment or rounding requirement. Verify all calculations independently.

29. Invoices, receipts and reports are not proof by themselves.

An invoice, receipt image, statement, report or export generated by the app does not by itself prove payment, delivery, debt, legal enforceability, authenticity or tax compliance. Retain original evidence and obtain professional advice when appropriate.

30. Disputes between users.

The developer/owner is not a party to loans, repayments, group expenses, invoices, settlements or other arrangements recorded in the app. You are responsible for resolving disputes with counterparties and for complying with applicable law.

31. No fiduciary or professional relationship.

Using Finance Plant does not create an advisory, fiduciary, agency, partnership, lender, accountant, attorney-client or other professional relationship between you and the developer/owner.

32. Beta, test and experimental features.

Some versions or features may be test, beta, experimental or not intended for production use. Such features may change, fail, be removed or behave unexpectedly. Do not rely on them as the sole record for critical financial, business or legal activity.

33. Maintenance, updates and compatibility.

An update may change data formats, calculations, integrations, permissions or device compatibility. Back up first. The developer/owner does not guarantee every earlier device, operating-system version, imported file or third-party integration will remain supported.

34. No guarantee of support or repair.

Support, troubleshooting, data recovery, migration, maintenance and bug fixes may not be available, timely or successful. The developer/owner is not obligated to recover records, repair a device, restore a backup or provide continued support unless separately agreed in writing.

35. User must protect access.

Use a secure device lock and protect passwords, PINs, email, cloud accounts, backup files and invitation links. Do not share credentials. You are responsible for actions performed by anyone who can access your device or account, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

36. Sensitive personal and business information.

Only enter personal, financial or business information that you are authorized to use. You are responsible for obtaining any consent and meeting applicable privacy, confidentiality, data-protection and retention obligations before collecting, storing or sharing another person's information.

37. No guarantee of legal compliance.

The app may not satisfy all accounting, tax, lending, consumer-credit, privacy, invoicing, electronic-signature, record-retention or industry-specific rules in every jurisdiction. You are responsible for determining which laws apply to you and obtaining professional advice.

38. Events outside reasonable control.

The developer/owner is not responsible for failure or delay caused by events outside reasonable control, including cyberattacks, power loss, natural disasters, war, civil disturbance, government action, internet outages, infrastructure failures or third-party service failures.

39. Central disclaimer: bugs, hacking, loss and errors.

IMPORTANT: THE DEVELOPER/OWNER OF FINANCE PLANT WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY BUG, SOFTWARE DEFECT, HACKING INCIDENT, UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, SECURITY BREACH, DATA LOSS, DATA CORRUPTION, INCORRECT OR MISSING RECORD, WRONG CALCULATION, FAILED BACKUP OR RESTORE, MISSED REMINDER, FAILED SHARE OR PRINT ACTION, DEVICE OR SYSTEM FAILURE, OR OTHER EVENT ARISING FROM OR CONNECTED WITH USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP. THIS INCLUDES FINANCIAL LOSS, CLAIMS, DISPUTES, PENALTIES AND OTHER DAMAGE. YOU ACCEPT THE RISKS OF USE AND MUST VERIFY IMPORTANT DATA AND KEEP INDEPENDENT BACKUPS.

40. No guarantee that a feature will be delivered.

Descriptions, plans, interface labels or future-feature statements are not guarantees that a feature will be available, uninterrupted, secure, compatible or suitable for your particular use. Availability can depend on version, configuration, region, permissions and third parties.

41. Responsibility for shared devices and copies.

If you use a shared, borrowed, repaired, rooted, jailbroken or otherwise modified device, or copy app files to another device or service, you accept the additional risks of exposure, tampering, incompatibility and loss, to the extent permitted by law.

42. Feedback and reports.

If you report a bug or suggest a feature, do not include passwords, authentication secrets or unnecessary financial or personal data. Reports may not be acted upon, and submitting a report does not create an obligation to fix a particular issue or recover affected data.

43. Reasonable mitigation.

Where you discover an error, suspected compromise or data problem, stop relying on the affected output, preserve available evidence, secure the device and accounts, verify records from original sources and seek appropriate professional or technical assistance promptly.

44. User decisions.

You make all decisions based on the information in the app. The software does not guarantee that a record, reminder, invoice, payment, loan balance, tax calculation or other output is correct or complete.

45. Updates and changes.

Features, calculations, interfaces, supported devices, integrations and documentation may change. Updates may introduce fixes, remove obsolete functionality or require configuration changes. You should back up important data before major updates.

46. Acceptance and continued use.

By accepting these terms, you acknowledge that you have reviewed them and accept responsibility for using Finance Plant appropriately. If you do not agree, do not use the application.

47. No warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

Finance Plant is provided without any warranty, express or implied, including without limitation any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, reliability, or that the software will meet your requirements or operate without interruption or error. You assume the entire risk as to the quality, performance, accuracy and usefulness of the software.

48. Indemnification.

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the developer/owner of Finance Plant, and its officers, employees, contractors and agents, from and against any and all claims, demands, losses, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use or misuse of the app; (b) data, records, receipts, invoices, loan records or other content you enter, store, export or share; (c) your violation of these terms or of any applicable law or third-party right; (d) any dispute between you and another person arising from a transaction, loan, split expense, invoice or other record created using the app; and (e) any decision you make in reliance on a calculation, reminder, report or export produced by the app.

49. Assumption of risk for financial and lending decisions.

Finance Plant may help you track loans, interest, repayments, invoices and shared expenses between you and other individuals or businesses. You expressly acknowledge that lending money, borrowing money, extending credit, charging or agreeing to interest, and entering into invoicing or payment arrangements with others carries inherent financial and legal risk, entirely independent of the software. The app's calculations, reminders and statements are aids only. You are solely responsible for deciding whether, how much, and on what terms to lend, borrow, invoice or pay, and for any resulting gain or loss.

50. Force majeure.

The developer/owner shall not be responsible for any failure or delay in the availability or functioning of the app, or for loss of data, caused directly or indirectly by events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to power failures, internet or network outages, device failure, operating system changes, app store policy changes, acts of God, natural disasters, war, civil unrest, labor disputes, governmental action, or failures of third-party services used by the app.

51. Age and legal capacity.

By using Finance Plant you represent that you are of legal age in your jurisdiction and have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements, including any lending, borrowing, invoicing or payment arrangement you choose to record or act upon using the app. The app is not directed at children, and financial recordkeeping of the kind Finance Plant performs is not intended for use by minors.

52. Termination and discontinuation.

The developer/owner may modify, suspend, limit or discontinue any part of the app or related services at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including maintenance, security, legal compliance, or business decisions. You may stop using the app at any time. Termination or discontinuation does not create any obligation to migrate, export, preserve or return your data beyond what your own local device or your own backups already contain, and you remain responsible for taking your own backups before any such event.

53. No liability for third-party conduct.

If the app is used to share information, invitations, invoices, statements or reminders with another person (including via WhatsApp, SMS, contacts, or any shared link), the developer/owner has no control over and no responsibility for that other person's conduct, honesty, creditworthiness, payment behavior, or use or misuse of information they receive. Any dispute, non-payment, fraud, or disagreement between you and another person is solely between you and that person.

54. Assumption of responsibility for device and account security.

If you use device pairing, an invitation link, or any owner/account access credential, you are solely responsible for keeping that credential, link and device confidential and secure. The developer/owner is not responsible for losses arising from a lost, stolen, shared, misconfigured or compromised device, credential, link or account.

55. Entire agreement.

These terms, together with any in-app privacy notice, constitute the entire agreement between you and the developer/owner regarding your use of Finance Plant, and supersede any prior understanding or agreement, whether written or oral, relating to that subject matter.

56. Amendments.

These terms may be updated from time to time as the app evolves. Continued use of the app after an update to these terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. You are encouraged to review these terms periodically.

57. Survival.

Sections relating to limitation of liability, indemnification, assumption of risk, no warranty, and any other provision which by its nature should survive, will survive termination of your use of the app or discontinuation of the service.

58. Acknowledgement of risk of total data loss.

You specifically acknowledge and accept that it is possible for all data stored by the app on your device to be permanently lost — for example through device loss, theft, damage, factory reset, operating system upgrade, storage corruption, accidental deletion of the app, or a bug in the app or an underlying library — and that neither the developer/owner nor the app itself guarantees recovery of such data. Regular, independent backups (as supported by the app's own backup/export features) are your responsibility.
